“..7..6..5..” The dwarf saw cone of magic shoot out and paused for the briefest of moments. “4…3..” All but one of the Siswa were stopped in there tracks. Luck was with them. Feldard lowered his crossbow, saving the bolt for another time and instead took up his axe and ran forward to aid Saeth with the last of her would be captors.
Seeing her allies attack, Saeth had been most relieved that it was Miklos and his ’sleep’ spell that led the charge, not a berserk Dwarf with a new toy. However, the one that still stood would face that Dwarf, now charging across the field.
The swordmaiden leapt on the final villager, pummelling his with her fists, as Feldard closed from behind.
The ruse was over, and it took unusually long for the Siswa to process. By the time he went for his sword, Saeth was already on him, with the dwarf, and then the cleric, soon to follow. The dwarf didn’t raise his axe to strike but went for a tackle, his goal to bring the elf down and knock him into unconciousness.
The mage swiftly stowed the wand and with a sideward glance as Maruc accelerated toward the lone Siswa guard he followed with easy strides. “We must pull them out of sight of the Temple.” He panted.
“Aye.” Responded the priest as he launched himself across the intervining space, then watching the dwarf as he tried to manhandle the surprised guard to the floor he added, “Feldard’ll have to be ‘escorted’ in when we enter. Even the power of Halav would stuggle to disguise him as an Elf!”
No one could see the priest grinning from inside his helm.
The group managed to disarm the lone elf and wrestle him to the ground. As the elf continued to struggle futilely, his eyes were in a glazed, dreamlike state.
