The Interrogation Chamber

“Thank you Miklos, very timely.

“You are most welcome.” Miklos replied

“If we still have some rope lying around I think we’ll need to tie him up until we get back to Sisak. If I am lucky we might come across some calming herbs to sedate him along the way. My advice would be for us to withdraw to the upper chamber, if Grigore doesn’t mind looking after Dieter whilst we release any other prisoners up there.” The priest turned to the old man. “I wouldn’t advise untieing him even if he becomes lucid. He might attack you not realising until it is too late that you are his father.”

“I might stay with them, I’ll see if I can find Saeth and Ashira and send them to you. I would like to quiz Gigore concerning all he knows about Dentiata and his Sons of Night.”After Dieter had been tied up, he grabbed an arm and said. “Who you mind giving me a hand getting him upstairs?” To everyone in general.

Feldard helped in the binding of Dieter and nodded at Miklos’ request of aid. Together the two managed to take the sleeping figure to the lift chamber. Yet he remained below and headed towards the reinforced door. Looking it over.

The wooden door was large and reinforced with iron. There was no window to look through and see what lied beyond. It did not take much for Nicolai to open the lock on the door. They opened it and looked inside.

The rooms smelled of blood and their were dark stains throughout the room. Some well-used torture devices were in the room, indicating that the room functioned as an interrogation chamber. They searched the room, but found nothing of interest. So, it seemed that they had finished the exploration of the dungeon. Now it was time to return to Sisak and decide their next move.

As the others arrived at the lift chamber, they found the Elf on her way back down. She stepped out of their way, and murmurred in her singsong voice, “He was restive, then?” After a moment, she finished the thought. “No matter. I assume he can stay here in his current condition, until we finish things up down here? His father is in the kitchen with Ashira.”

‘Now it was time to return to Sisak and decide their next move.’ – I guess this is a DM hint that the Tower is fully expored and there are no other rooms!

“I think its time to move on.” said the mage, “We need to get to Sisak, perhaps there we can get a cart and driver to take us to Specularum quickly. I would like to discuss the cult of Darker Magi with my tutors at the guild and discover a method of opening this case. I might also be able to purchase more incantations to aid us. Also we need to advise Cadwell that his castle has been cleared and we can collect our reward.”

“We can then return more prepared to tackle the ruins of the Darker Temple.”

  3. Maruc (Clr 4)

“I agree.” the priest put in. “Although it galls me to delay tackling the Temple and its secrets, I see the wisdom of researching the area first. We also need to get Dieter to the Halavist church in Specularum. They have access to institutions that can aid him. If it is not too late.”

Maruc considered the problem of moving Dieter about. “I will start constructing a stretcher for him out of the materials upstairs in the barracks. Then we can get going. I am happy to be a bearer but I’ll need some help though.”

He left the others discussing the their next move and went upstairs to the main hall. Using the curtains and spear poles he built a rudimentary stretcher. He lifted the bar of the main door and checked the weather and time of day.

On impulse Miklos made a note to himself to hire a wagoneer to pack and transport the glassware and library to one of his fathers warehouses in the city.

En route back to Sisak Miklos will quiz Grigor about his experiences…

“So Grigor, what can you tell us about Dentiata? Do you recall overhearing anything? How were you treated? Where there any unusual questions you were asked? Things like what faith you had, who your ancestors were.”

  6. Feldard (Dwf 3)

While Maruc and the others went upstairs and prepared some form of pallet for moving Dieter, Feldard did one last check about to ensure there were no rooms left unchecked and no orcs running about. Something bothered him but he couldn’t quite put his finger on it. There were too many questions when it came to this whole Sons of Night prophecy. There was the giant lodestone at the top of the tunnel. The blood-letting alter in the workroom.. OH and that discoloured patch down in the dungeon area. He’d almost forgotten about that! He pulled Nicolai aside informing him of his intent to trigger it. Then alone went down to the spot and using the pole Saeth was so kind to provide pushed the coloured patch in attempts to trigger whatever it was intended for. He held his breath and was tensed to dodge, alert for the more common type traps.
