“Is there no chance that there was a map to this ruin, or some hint as to where we might find this Ylari?” Saeth paid little attention to the others as they searched the room. “Miklos, you say that this ‘eye’ was being searched for by both Dentiata and Sevastian. You don’t suppose Sevastian had found it already?”
Feldard grimaced at the sight of the darkness.
Miklos was gazing in wonder at the ‘rag’ bag he held. He had read about magics like this but the one in the Mage’s Guild was never allowed to be handled by the students. Here, now he had one in his hands. Even if the contents were filled with gold he doubted it would be worth the value of the bag. Well maybe.
“Mage, this is something you might want to deal with,” said the dwarf, interrupting his train of thought.
“Pardon?” he said absently and picking up the bag. He went over to the Dwarf and looked behind the curtain.
“Hmm… well its dark in there. Let us try fully drawing the curtain? Then we shall see the area from all angles. Its pointless reacting to half the evidence.”
Meanwhile, Maruc held back and ushered Ashira behind him ready to see what the others revealed, and Nicolai stopped his search for traps, joining the others as they peered behind the curtains. “Miklos, would this be a magically darkened area?”
To the young mage, the entire area behind the curtain appeared to be magical. As the curtains were opened further, all in the room felt a strong sense of evil and repulsion.
Feldard stepped back away warily, reaching inside his pack to pull out a coin and tossed it towards the darkness. Though he could not see it, he heard the coin bounce upon the floor.
