Storage Room

Saeth gestured for the party to stop, oblivious to the fact that only Feldard could see the motion in the dark. After listening in silence for a sound from the far side of the door, the Elf concluded that there was nothing there. She stepped back, then delivered a great kick to the portal, determined to open it.

The dwarf watched as the Elf tried kicking the door open. He’d be much amused if she hurt her foot instead. But wishful thinking or not, he edged closer and got into a position just off to the side of the Cleric.

The door burst open with a crack. The room ahead was dark. It was 20′ x 20′ square, with stone walls and a 15′ high ceiling. Wine casks were stacked along the south wall, and the other half of the room was filled with a cluttered mess of old furniture, tools, boxes and crates of odds and ends.

Another wooden door was across from the group, on the east wall of the room.

    Feldard: 10xp +10xp

    Saeth: 5080/8000
    Maruc: 4995/6000
    Miklos: 4940/5000
    Nicolai: 4660/4800
    Feldard: 4990/8800

  2. Nicolai (T3)

Nicolai listens at the far door.

  3. Saeth Tegau

Saeth jumped slightly as Nicholai moved past, but calmed herself down and turned back towards the Dwarf. “You suppose we’re under the tower proper by now?”

It would have been (a bit) funny if she’d hurt herself on that door, wouldn’t it?

  4. Feldard (Dwf 3)

Feldard ponders a moment at the Elf’s question, judging distance and direction.

(pick which ever response his dwarven tunnel experience would tell him is reasonable)
He nods. “We should be at the outer edge of the Tower now. I would suspect beyond this door perhaps one more room, at most, then our exit.” Feldard moves ahead to back Nicolai at the door.

He shakes his head. “No, we still have some distance left to cover. We are barely half-way to the Tower. Why? Are you feeling a bit enclosed?” Feldard smirks to himself, and then moves ahead to back Nicolai at the door.

  5. Miklos (Mu 2)

Miklos winced as the Elf kicked the door in. “Easy girl! Blimey, we don’t want to wake the whole place up unless its necesary. We do have our highly skilled Nicolai here for this sort of thing you know.” He glanced passed her into the room beyond. “Still it seem there’s no harm done.”

Miklos allowed to others to pass through before entering the room himself.

  6. Maruc (Clr 3)

“Miklos, don’t be so quick to judge. Saeth listened at the door first you know. She knows whats she’s doing and you have to admit anyone in there would have been surprised!” Maruc grinned.

He picked his way through the mess after the Elf. “What do you think? Is this wine vintage?”

  7. Saeth Tegau

Saeth sniffed the proffered bottle. “Perhaps too vintage. I’d let the Dwarf drink it, myself.” She glanced up the tunnel, where Feldard was preparing to open the next door with Nicholai.

  8. Feldard (Dwf 3)

Feldard glanced back at the Elf’s comment. “Too potent for you, eh long ears? That’s okay I’m sure we’ll come across someone who has some goats milk to appeal to your infant-like tastes.”

  9. Nicolai (T3)

“Sshh! How am I supposed to hear anything with you bickering like old women?!”

  10. Saeth Tegau

“Too potent?” The volume of her voice, though not it’s intensity dropped in response to Nicolai’s comment. Grabbing the bottle back from Maruc, she upended it, chugging half the contents before coming up for air. She glared with her good eye, silently demanding Feldard take back his insult.

Oh, crap, I did not expect her to do this. If it’s still good stuff, she could be getting some significant penalties…
