“Great, more things that should be dead.” Nicolai stepped towards the skeletons with sword at the ready.
“In most of the poems, they are referred to as dead already,” quipped Saeth as she stepped between these oncoming enemies and Maruc, readying her blade. “And if they aren’t, they will be soon. Priest, you’ve some trick with such creatures, no?”
Feldard emerged from the Black Widow room at hearing the charge of the skeletal horde. He moved up in front of the priest with a determined scowl. He’d keep Maruc from the thick of it long enough for the priest to issue forth his prayer—and with any luck they’d be turned to dust.
The priests eyes narrowed. He recognized the sound before his eyes grew accustomed to the gloom of the room beyond. Instinctively he drew forth his holy symbol. The welcome sight of the the dwarf bringing his shield to bear at his flank strengthened Maruc’s resolve.
Hasan grabbed the unfortunate thief’s short sword and then (assuming he is screened from the melee) headed over to stand close to Miklos, who took position behind the dwarf & the cleric, brandishing his staff in case any should breach the defense.
They had almost forgotten about Lihrien, their Siswa ‘friend’ who had been charmed by Miklos into drawing them a map and providing information about the dark forces at work in the temple. He had been quietly standing in a daze in the octagonal room, his mind clouded from the effects of multiple enchantments pulling him in different directions.
When the skeletons appeared in the chamber, he barely had time to turn his head before their scimitars were unleashed upon him. He was quickly cut to shreds and that was the end of Lihrien.
The Siswa elf’s demise delayed the skeleton army’s charge long enough for the group to assume their battle positions.
“Return to your graves fleshless ones!” cried Maruc, summoning the Might of Halav’s spirit to him. Ten of the undead were instantly destroyed into dust as the holy power of the Immortals was summoned to the underground chamber. Six foes remained, but their brittle bones were no match for the companions’ steel. One after another, their bones were split and chopped apart.
The undead continued to battle, oblivious to their imminent doom, as Maruc again called forth the power of the Immortal King of the Traldar. The remainder of the skeletal contingent was rendered to dust before they could do any damage to the would-be saviors of the Elyan.

Hasan has gained a level. + 6 hp = 17 hp total (good roll!) He can now memorise one 2nd level spell. He currently has none in his spellbook though, but he can fill the slot with an additional 1st level spell. Back at the village, he can get spells from Elrond’s book.

(oops.. I had thought we’d left the Siswa Lihrien back in the room we’d questioned him in. Oh well one less pointy-eared tongue-wagger to worry about)
Following, the dispatching of the last of the skeletons, Feldard shook his head at the death of the Siswa. He then glanced over towards Maruc. “Did you see where these came from.. a secret passage or more magic?”

“I doubt there will be too many more surprises like that, unless there is some gateway to hell down there. Thank you Maruc.” Miklos said, relief evident in his voice. “Perhaps we should investigate this other door before we continue? I don’t want something creeping up behind us.”

“I was not I who banished the undead but the power of Halav Incarnate. I am but an emissary.” Maruc repied modestly, “Sadly I am not blessed with inhuman sight, Feldard, so it was a while before I could see from wence they came. My guess is that they came from all directions from the room beyond. They did not claw themselves from the soil as would be the case in a summoning. I believe these creatures where called forth to serve the Sisters some time ago. They are pre-eminent in necromancy.”
The priest returned to the door he was investigating before the attack, “I heard no sound from the room beyond. Nicolai, would you be so kind?” Maruc backed out of the way to allow the young man to work his profession.

“Rather than opening the door, perhaps we should check those hallways, lest there be more of these skeletons concealed there?” Saeth may not have been at her best deep underground, but neither was she completely oblivious to her hard-won tactical experience.

“I’ll cover the hall.. you and the others finish checking that last room” Feldard kicked aside a pile of dust at his feet and moved to the edge of the Bloody Room peering down along the hallways with his infravision and listening for the telltale rattle of bone on bone to warn him of further skeletons.

Hasan dashed to the remains of the fallen Elyrian. “Agh … Lihrien. You were not yourself, but I should not have left you defenseless.” He knelt by his old neighbor and reflected on how how, as one who would soon take up greater responibilities to his clan, he must learn to govern his impulses more carefully.
Feldard watched Hasan’s hand pulse back and forth in a frantic rythym between his scabbarded sword and the gruesome elven carcass. The dwarven eyes, finely attuned to the dark, saw Hasan’s jade ring occasionally cast the faintest glint to punctuate the elf’s tortured movements.
